28/01 – I discovered an interesting bit on the ACMA Assist registration instructions today. Email login is no longer available for new users. I suspect as I already had an account with an email login they weren’t transferred to the Digital ID account that was created (detailed below). I’ve emailed ACMA to try and get the two merged.
27/01 – **Update** – myID breaks “Amateur Radio” tab in ACMA Assist portal.
It was discovered tonight (and confirmed with other amateurs who have the same issue) when I log in using my email credentials, I can see the “Amateur Radio” tab and am able to view and reconfirm my amateur callsigns as expected. However, when logging in via myID, the Amateur Radio tab is no longer visible, and I am unable to access or reconfirm my callsigns. This is despite both accounts sharing the same details (email etc) & client ID’s.

We’re making ACMA Assist even safer and easier to use. On 29 January 2026, we’ll upgrade our online services portal to strengthen identity verification and improve security for all users.
The ACMA will require your myID identity strength to be Standard or higher.
If you have a Basic identity strength (with no document check), you will need to open your myID app and upgrade to Standard by 29 January 2026.
If you have already verified at Standard or higher, no action is required.
You will be required to upgrade your myID identity strength before you will be allowed to login to an ACMA Assist account. Note it is not only the ACMA who are introducing this requirement, but several other Federal and State Government agencies soon.
As a reminder – an ACMA assist account is required by all Australia Amateur Radio Operators to renew their callsigns every 5 years. In fact the next renewal period isn’t that far away! I did a video on how to create/login and have an ACMA Assist account.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!! If you do not do this, you may lose your callsign and it will go back into the available callsign pool if you do not reconfirm it!
