How to Work 3Y0K on FT8 (Guide & Frequencies)

The 3Y0K DXpedition to Bouvet Island is currently active, giving amateur radio operators around the world a rare opportunity to work one of the most sought-after DXCC entities. In this guide and video, I explain how to correctly configure WSJT-X for FT8 to improve your chances of making a contact with 3Y0K, including the specific 3Y0K FT8 frequencies they are using and how the Fox & Hound mode works during major DXpeditions.

Because 3Y0K is operating on non-standard FT8 frequencies, simply calling on the normal FT8 bands may mean you never see them on the waterfall. The video walks through adding the correct 3Y0K frequencies in WSJT-X, enabling Hound mode, and understanding how the DXpedition handles the high volume of callers.

I also share a few practical tips for tracking activity using tools like PSK Reporter and DX cluster spots, so you can quickly identify which bands are currently open to Bouvet Island.
